Global Channel Director B2C


Under the responsibility of the VP in charge of Channel Management, your mission will be to:

  • Adress major SOMFY challenge regarding the channel
  • Professionalize channel management across the company to significantly grow SOMFY presence in B2C in relevant geographies

Role definition

Develop knowledge & generate and share insights

  • Identify customer & consumer needs and business opportunities within the channel.
  • Understand trends (channel, consumers) and competition (product, pricing, promotions, sales)
  • Share & deploy channel and consumer knowledge (segmentation, end to end journey, pain points, business needs…)

Prioritize and strategize

  • Contribute to the growth and profitability of the B2C business through the development and implementation of short-term marketing plans and long-term strategies (encompassing both online and offline experience) across multi-region business
  • Drive positioning of relevant Somfy PLs in key B2C channels, ensure consistency with other distribution channels
  • Address the main strategic SOMFY’s challenges regarding this channel (E-commerce growth, consolidation and digitalization of retailers, increased service expectations of consumers, etc)
  • Specify and recommend the resource allocation mix to drive the channel (salesforce, communication, customer service center, end-to-end digital experience...)
  • Make recommendations to develop and introduce new products & new services to drive sales and gain share.

Engage and execute

  • Serve as a liaison between sales and product management.
  • Support Business Areas and Units to develop this channel
  • Act as a champion in communicating and executing B2C strategies and goals throughout the business; Support the countries to develop this channel
  • Develop programs to drive sales through B2C channel and animate target customer communities (events, online tools/applications, etc.)

Monitor progress and manage performance

  • Analyze and evaluate channel performance (relevant product categories/geographies) with the selection of leading and lagging performance indicators
  • Propose and monitor corrective actions when needed


Demonstrated experience and proven track record

  • Retail online or offline (with strong preference online)
  • B2C/Consumer Channel (e.g. Consumer Packaged Goods)
  • 10+ years of experience in the above fields with a strong Marketing background
  • International experience

  • Very close to the field (customers intimacy)

  • Excellence in presenting complex ideas and outcomes in a clear and easy to understand way
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Typical relevant background

  • Management Consulting background with demonstrated experience in Consumer Goods/eCommerce strategy & execution
  • Retail category manager
  • B2C channel manager in large Window Fashion player/corp.



This position can be held in Amsterdam (NL), Leeds (UK) or New Jersey (US)
