Positie

Sourcing & Supply Chain (S&SC) represents ASML’s Sourcing, Logistics, and Quality interface to its external supply base and is responsible for materials availability for ASML’s factories. In today’s complex multi-tier supply chains, this is only possible by creating full transparency in the chains and flexibility at suppliers. S&SC manages its Complex Supply Chains (CSCs) up to seven tiers deep, addressing potential bottlenecks and supply risks before they impact our customers. 

It must handle the increased complexity of ASML’s systems while reducing the cost of ownership for customers. To do this, S&SC works with suppliers to continuously reduce cycle time for components, modules, and assemblies, increasing supply chain flexibility and customer value. S&SC also monitors the suppliers’ quality, flexibility, cycle time reductions, move rate compliance, and on-time delivery reliability, driving supplier development in all areas to ensure ASML’s supply keeps pace with technological developments and can adapt to changing market conditions.

Job Mission

The Head of Supplier Quality & Logistics group category Electronics leads the department with 3 (senior) team managers reporting to him/her. He/ She is responsible for on time and in full delivery (Logistics) and against expected performance and specification (Quality) of the Electronic products supplied by the Electronics suppliers of ASML. Key is to secure ASML’s steep growth ambitions in the mid-long term (2023 – 2025) and prepare the supplier landscape for the longer term, in close cooperation with the accountable Senior Director Sourcing for the group category Electronics.

The scope of responsibilities includes a contribution to the selection of Electronics suppliers in line with ASML’s long-term needs, managing the suppliers to required competitive performance, and to de-risk the external supply chain for our customers with respect to material deliveries, quality, and MR capabilities for today’s production and future production plans.

Job Description

The Head of Supplier Quality and Logistics group category Electronics is responsible for:

  • The co-design of the Electronics supply chain to secure ASML Business
  • Managing the growth, preparing capital investment decisions in the external supply chain to enable ASMLs business growth
  • Leading a department of highly qualified Quality & Logistics supplier management professionals
  • Deployment of ASML’s business priorities and transformation programs in his/her department
  • Integrating stakeholders' requirements and deciding on the supplier quality & logistics policies to fit the specific situation for Electronics suppliers
  • Ensuring QLTCS metrics for Electronics suppliers are understood and continuous improvements are realized
  • Ensure Supplier intimacy to a level that guarantees fair/constructive two-way communication/interaction and enables the right traction and follow-up on material escalations, capacity preparation, structural quality improvements, etc.
  • Escalation path for Quality & Logistics internally and towards suppliers, including New Product Introductions (NPIs). Address performance escalations towards supplier executive management to accelerate improvement progress

Accelerate people development and foster talent. Ensure adequate organization and staffing is in place fit for the future, maintain and further develop people competence to increase the impact on suppliers.

Successful supplier management requires visiting ASML suppliers’ as such you can be expected to spend 10-20% of your time at suppliers’ locations.

Persoonlijk profiel

Education

  • Master of Science degree in (Industrial) Engineering, Supply Chain Management or Business Science

Experience

  • 10-15 years of relevant international management experience in a large international company
  • Proven line management track record in high tech, automotive, medical device, aerospace, process industry, or equivalent
  • Operational Management of Supply chain and/or manufacturing functions in one of the above-mentioned industries
  • Experience in building and maintaining strategic relations with suppliers 
  • Experience in managing and coaching senior managers in an operations environment
