For our End User Channel in Northern Europe, we are looking for a Channel Marketing Manager. This is a new position for the Somfy organization so you really need to build on the business. Ideally, you have a proven track record in B2C marketing and business development within an international context. You will be responsible for further developing and executing the End User Channel strategy within the Northern Europe Business Area (NEBA: UK & Ireland, BENELUX and Nordic countries).


The End User Channels within Somfy consist of three channels: Mass Retail (DIY, Consumer electronic chains), Pure Players (E-Commerce customers) and Webshops (Somfy webshops). As E-Commerce customers are one of the channels, but a very important one, knowledge of the digital retail industry is key!


You will work closely with the local Business Developers and E-Commerce Managers to implement the Channel’s strategy. You will report directly to the End User Channel Director based in Hoofddorp, the Netherlands. The Trade Marketer End User Channels will report to you.


Your responsibilities as a Channel Marketing Manager will include

  • Further develop channel strategy and follow-up in close cooperation with End User Channel Director
  • Work closely with local Business Developers and E-Commerce Managers to implement strategy across NEBA (country roadmaps)
  • Executing cross-border marketing and business development initiatives, as well as overseeing local initiatives (UK & Ireland, BENELUX and Nordic countries)
  • Identify new growth opportunities (products, services, segments or routes to market)
  • Conduct market research (financial figures, technologies, trends, benchmarks, customers) to create market intelligence and do thorough analysis to drive the marketing plan
  • Define and manage the channel’s marketing plan in close cooperation with the relevant communications specialist and local country teams
  • Develop and communicate the value proposal for the channel
  • Manage and coach the End User Trade Marketeer


Personal profile

  • HND Degree (HBO) within a relevant area (Marketing, Economics, Business Administration)
  • > 5 years of B2Cmarketing and/or business development experience within an international business context
  • Experience within the (digital) retail industry (e.g. retail, consumer durable goods brands)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to build relationships and manage stakeholders in a diverse cross cultural environment
  • Business development skills
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Fluent in English with proficient writing skills
  • Willingness to travel 10-15% of the time
  • Living in the Netherlands
