Purpose of Department

The European Central Planning & Engineering department is responsible for creating and managing the overarching program management for the operational integration and base programs as well as leading specific areas around standards & methods, applications and change management.  We monitor and support detailed project planning to ensure alignment, optimal planning and proper execution.


We offer the opportunity to be a member of the P&E Program Management team and work on one of the most import challenges within the new combined entity of FedEx and TNT.


Key activities within Program Management team

  • Monitor and support detailed project planning and execution of integration and base projects to ensure alignment and optimal planning and execution.
  • The team is the contact for all other functions when it comes to program activities. This includes continuous alignment and addressing questions for projects at cross-functional and global level
  • Ensure global alignment of all P&E initiatives.
  • The team is in charge of regular program meetings and other key forums with P&E executive team and operational teams.
  • Organize and host cross-functional workshops (e.g. walk-the-walls) on regular basis with all regions, P&E and Operations
  • Provide change management in support of Integration
  • Support financial reporting for P&E area
  • Align with Finance and relevant functions on business case, review and check financial reports and invoices, monitoring project and program budgets
  • Coordinate and support executive presentations and requests, gather input and provide admin support and follow-up and support resolving action items


For the City logistic vacancy, the below activities are key

  • Research specific city legislation and identify potential risks or constraints to operate
  • Research latest transportation technologies
  • Design and support the implementation of alternative operating models for city logistics
  • Create business cases for city logistic solutions
  • Engage relevant stakeholders (internal and external) to create buy in for alternative operating models
  • Challenge the status quo
  • A/B testing
  • Perform data driven analyses to implement suitable city logistics solutions

Personal profile

  • Degree or professional qualification in industrial engineering or quantitative discipline
  • Project management courses, qualifications or experience (certified Prince 2 or PMP is a plus)
  • Knowledge of transportation and logistics industry is an advantage
  • Experience in Engineering is an advantage
  • Ability to communicate and present at all levels within an international organization, both written and verbal in native and English language
  • Stakeholder management experience
  • Ability to independently set priorities, develop a work schedule, monitor progress towards goals and track progress
  • Finance knowledge for non-Financial Management
  • Proficient use of Office applications (Word, Excel & PowerPoint)
  • Analytical thinker with a creative and pragmatic approach to problem solving
  • Flexible, no nine-to-five mentality including ability and willingness to travel for up to 50% of the time


Preferred experience/knowledge for the City logistics vacancy

  • Knowledge of transportation and logistics industry is an advantage
  • Knowledge of last mile delivery is an advantage
