Position

The Program Manager is part of the SC Support department within the Supply Chain function and reports directly to the Manager SC Support. In this capacity you have a pivotal role in the transformation of the Supply Chain organization from the “now” to the “new”.

 

The Program Manager is responsible for one of the three main transformation phases, such as (i) stabilize and fix, (ii) absorb the growth, and (iii) SC Excellence. Each phase consists of multiple key projects to ensure the SC function will further professionalize and support the growth of the organization. The total transformation has a horizon of several years.

 

Responsible for one of the three main transformation phases, which means that the Program Manager oversees multiple complex projects that are part of the respective transformation phase. As such, the role demands an understanding of how growing organizations operate as the Program Manager needs to liaise with multiple stakeholders. It also demands tight project management in order to prevent business disruptions.

 

The above demands the highest levels of project scheduling and strategic thinking in terms of understanding complex, multi-project environments and quickly diagnosing potential risks. The Program Manager needs to be able to facilitate difficult working sessions with senior leaders and handle positive and negative feedback and inputs. Furthermore, the role requires the skills to communicate with diverse groups of people across the organization within a fast-paced pragmatic environment. It is therefore crucial to stimulates positive responses from others and yourself.

 

In the end you need to drive and embed change in the designated phase and act as a change leader. In this capacity, you will work in several locations where your presence is required and your projects are being deployed.

 

Transformation Program

  • Support the SC Support Manager to keep oversight over all initiatives in the program and keep track of the overall business targets and objectives. You liaise with the SC Support Manager and, if needed, with the SC Management Team. You help the management team to define the next steps and align with other functions in the organization to support to alignment and enabling the decision making process
  • Build (select, recruit and train) the project teams to drive all initiatives and ensure a strong identity of these teams on enabling chance and continuous improvement
  • Present and discuss results with senior management (up to Board level) to align on overarching issues and ask for approvals when required

 

Work Transition

  • Responsible for planning and managing the multiple projects according to the agreed methodology within time and budget. By doing so, ensuring that all key stakeholders are pro-actively aligned
  • Enable the decision-making process in your respective transformation phase and facilitate the steerco meetings for your area of scope
  • Coordinate and lead the transformation team for your transformation phase, keep proper documentation and report on program progress to management
  • Manage escalations and changes and provide solutions

 

Internal stakeholder management

  • Pro-actively aligns with internal stakeholders linked to the respective program. This includes ensuring internal stakeholders are kept adequately up to date on status of outstanding issues

Reporting/ KPI Management

  • Administer everyday workflow of all implementation processes and provide support to all team members in the transformation
  • Evaluate all management information reports and ensure achievement of the implementation within the given time and budget

 

People Management

  • Makes employees enthusiastic, clearly indicates the intended effect of targets, brings about a positive attitude towards the work and inspires team members’ strong will to perform;
  • Stimulates employees to join in on the thought process and to actively contribute to the development of new ideas and to learn from his/her own experiences and those of others;
  • Lead and coach the project managers, in your respective Transformation phase. The teams will consist of both direct and indirect reports

 

Personal profile

 

Requirements – hard skills

  • University work and thinking level in combination with a minimally completed Bachelor
  • At least 10 years of direct program, transition or project management, with primary responsibility for at least four complex projects. Complexity ranges from bringing strategy to operational execution, focus can be IT implementation, implementing new network footprint and ensuring new way of working across entire Supply Chain
  • Operations expertise with supply chain knowledge is a plus
  • Ideally you have Prince2 certification, along with Six Sigma or Lean Management Certification or other process related certifications.
  • Strong capabilities in Microsoft Office and MS Project

 

Requirements – soft skills

  • Change leader able to motivate and energize large groups
  • Presentation and communication skills: ability to effectively convey ideas in diverse situations, tailor communication to the audience, and build consensus through fact based discussions
  • Experience in planning and coordinating, ability to efficiently delegate tasks and deploy all available skill sets for the united vision
  • Able to think and act outside of own discipline/department
  • Project Management skills
  • Structured and well organized
  • Fluent written and spoken in English and Dutch. Another language is a plus
