ASML is changing the world, one nanometer at a time! ASML is a high-tech, Netherlands-based company manufacturing complex lithography systems that chipmakers use to produce integrated circuits – aka microchips. ASML machines help create the electronics you use in your daily life. In the past three decades, ASML has grown from a startup to a multinational company with over 60 locations globally and annual net sales of €27.6 billion in 2023.
ASML invents and develops the technology and machinery used by the world’s leading chipmakers – such as Intel, Samsung, and TSMC – to mass-produce chips. The company’s state-of-the-art lithography technology, which uses light to print microscopic patterns on silicon, enables manufacturers to increase the value and reduce the production cost of a chip.
With a dynamic, global team of over 42,000 people and 144 nationalities, ASML is based in Europe’s most prolific tech hub, the Brainport Eindhoven region in the Netherlands, with operations spread across Europe, Asia, and the US.
The key to success is a strong focus on research, manufacturing, and customer support. ASML invests around €4 billion per year in R&D last year to strengthen its market position and solidify its technological lead.
