Sales Director

Position

Sales Director This position plays a pivotal role in shaping and executing the international sales strategy together with the team. As Sales Director you will lead the sales activities across Europe and later on America, with the aim of achieving success on both continents. With focus on the development and implementation of smart strategies, fostering strong relationships, and managing international sales teams. A key responsibility is to contribute significantly to the improvement and professionalization of sales processes, providing clear direction and support to the team, to drive performance to the next level. Your heart starts beating faster when bringing in new clients, and you know how to grow sales with existing customers.

Responsibilities

  • Achieve and exceed sales goals, focusing on robust revenue growth maximizing profit margins, and capturing greater market share
  • Build and nurture relationships across diverse sectors, consistently identifying and seizing new business opportunities to fuel expansion
  • Negotiate and close high-value deals with key customers and distributors, establishing long-lasting and mutually beneficial partnerships
  • Stay ahead of industry trends and evolving customer needs, continuously identifying opportunities and adapting sales strategies to optimize results
  • Set dynamic pricing strategies that maintain competitiveness in the market while securing healthy margins, optimizing profitability
  • Develop accurate sales forecasts and reports, ensuring clear visibility of goals, progress, and KPIs
  • Lead, motivate, and develop a high-performing team of Sales & Account Managers and customer service professionals, fostering a culture of success, excellence, and continuous development
  • Represent the company at industry events and trade shows, showcasing products and capabilities while expanding the network and creating new business connections
  • Collaborate closely with marketing, e-commerce, product management, procurement, and CEO  to align efforts and drive integrated success  
Personal profile

The ideal candidate is an experienced leader who, understands the dynamics of an international B2B oriented trading company, preferably with a background in the print or personalization industry. He or she has a strong personality, a commercial mindset, and a natural ability to win people over. Creative, with perseverance and passion. Speaks the customer’s language. Bringing in new clients and growing existing accounts is what energizes him/her. A natural leader, a hands-on team player, and a connector who inspires others through enthusiasm and by spotting opportunities (leading by example). Together with the team, you will work toward the next phase: achieving strong growth over the next years. You are an inspiring sparring partner who the team can rely on, and a key figure in driving success.

Education and experience

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s level of working and thinking
  • At least 15 years of commercial experience in (inter)national wholesale, with a minimum of five years in a leadership role
  • Strong and proven track record in commerce and growth
  • Experience in leading, inspiring, and motivating a sales team
  • Experience with sales through e-commerce webshops is a plus
  • Fluent in English, preferably Dutch and German
