Sales Director

Position

The Sales Director drives Country Sales growth and consolidation by constantly scouting untapped business opportunities and hitting profitable targets. S/he ensures the delivery of a remarkable customer experience through the outstanding execution of a sound sales strategy driven by a highly qualified and engaged sales team (10 Area Managers).

The role reports to the Country General Manager, Giuseppe Vironda (former Global Chief Marketing Officer of the Amplifon Group, with a past in Vodafone and Google).

Key Accountabilities

Drive revenue generation and operational excellence 

  • Ensure growth in country revenue and profitability targets through a well-planned and executed sales strategy leveraging on lead generation, conversion maximization, and diary optimization
  • Set the country annual budget based on sound business insights and analysis and establish annual sales targets for regions and areas
  • Guarantee sales performance by monitoring sales trends and projections, analyzing deviations, and implementing corrective action plans
  • Ensure compliance with group and regional guidelines, as well as administrative procedures/requirements

Network development and optimal footprint definition

  • Analyze market, industry trends, and competitors to gain a good understanding of the commercial potential of each area and promptly detect untapped business opportunities or threats
  • Define with the Area Managers new openings and relocations, constantly balancing sales increase and profitability
  • Play a pivotal role in Amplifon's business development, identifying new channels to market and proactively managing relationships with any stakeholder that could help develop the country business (e.g., ENTs, etc.)

People engagement and development

  • Lead and motivate Area Managers focusing on performance management, development, coaching and learning, driving the creation of a highly qualified and engaged team
  • Manage labor cost budget and workforce planning to ensure optimal territory coverage, balancing the presence of different store formats
  • Encourage the diffusion of a culture of customer devotion and operational excellence throughout the wider sales team
Personal profile
  • Extensive experience (15+ years) and excellent expertise regarding sales and operations in the B2C business. Preferred background in specialty retail, FMCG, TelCo
  • S/he brings a proven track record in successfully setting and executing sales strategies in innovative and advanced multinational companies with geographically dispersed operations and varied store concepts
  • S/he will have the necessary financial acumen to understand and interpret P&L and apply the relevant KPls
  • Entrepreneurial and competitive traits needed to juggle strategy and bring a hands-on and pragmatic approach
  • International mindset, customer journey perfect understanding, retail excellence
  • Sharp leadership skills to lead and develop large sales operations (people, process, systems). S/he will have excellent capability to communicate vision, build and maintain a sustainable, high-performance culture, actively manage performance, and develop talents to ensure long-term loyalty and identification of the hearing-aid acousticians with the Company.
  • Learning agility to facilitate acting and succeeding in a matrix organization and assume greater responsibilities at Amplifon, in the country and abroad in a forward-thinking perspective
  • Availability to travel within the country (ideally 2 days per week)
  • Solid academic education and fluent communication in Dutch and English

Location
