Senior Technology Consultant

As Technical Consultant for the Employment sector, you are responsible to successfully deliver high-quality solutions to our customers globally. As first point of contact for our customers, it’s essential to have great communication skills; at the same time deliver the best solution that fits the customer’s requirements within the given budget. 

The Consultant is a customer-focused specialist with (preferably) a background in software development, data analysis, or as a DBA. You will participate in customer projects where WCC consultants rely on you to perform the technical tasks required for project success. You should quickly be able to gain basic understanding of how to successfully execute technical roll-out of our solutions and software and basic understanding of project administration tooling like JIRA, MS Project and SharePoint. You have expertise in the domain of Public Employment, HR and Staffing, or can gain this knowledge quickly. 

As WCC is a learning organization, close involvement with your (Pre-)Sales and Product Management colleagues will ensure good handover and continuous improvement of the processes to better serve their customers. You can translate high-level requirements and general ideas into technical solutions and support the project manager in aligning internal and external stakeholders before, during and after delivery of the project.

Responsibilities

• Translating customer needs into solutions, understanding their business processes 
• Understanding labor market developments and local legislation and being able to translate this into concrete solutions and actions
• Install, configure and customize our products according to the specifications set by customers and partners
• Support pre-sales activities with proof-of-concepts, demos, GAP analysis and solutioning
• Write user guides and train (technical) users
• Recognize business opportunities and relay these to the sales team
• Align with other teams and departments in order to improve our work processes and project execution
• Proactively identify and resolve risks and escalations
• Measurable client satisfaction
• Regular international travelling

• Bachelor or Master degree, preferably in Computer Science (Engineering) or IT
• At least 5+ years’ experience as a Technical Consultant working within or for a software company
• Affinity with and proven track record in product-focused consultancy, or an interest to move into consulting from a technical role as e.g. Software Developer, DBA, data analyst.
• Creative problem-solving skills and technical capabilities
• Experience with XML, service-oriented architectures, Linux, JavaScript, databases and SQL
• Project management experience and/ or certification, e.g. PMP, IPMA, Prince2, or similar is a plus
• Experience with (business) processes and technology in the areas of searching & matching, identity management, access control and/or biometrics is a plus 
• Proficiency in both spoken and written Dutch and English. Other languages like German or French are a plus
• Willingness to travel internationally on a regular basis
